Nonsense. The photograph showed him sitting on the floor. There are no chairs - where else is he supposed to sit? He did not have his head bowed, nor was he prostrate on the floor. He was simply sat with his legs tucked under him.

2. The Archbishop of York is, as it is well documented, is a Ugandan by birth, a British trained barrister.

The 8-page document sent to VirtueOnline lists the following accusations against Fr. Mead:

* The Rev. Andrew Mead continuously abuses alcohol and as a result has repeatedly engaged in conduct inappropriate for a priest, including engaging in sexually inappropriate conduct.

Specifically the complaint charges that at the annual lay reader dinner at St. Thomas' he hugged a certain Mr. Getzel "for an excessively long period of time while grabbing his buttocks."

In a vote by orders, 68 of the clergy voted in favor of the amendment, 16 were opposed. The lay delegates voted 108 in favor, with 12 opposed to the amendment to Article II. After the vote was counted delegates rose to their feet and erupted in applause.

This past week gave demonstrable proof of the politics going on in the Church of England where there is much talk of the Archbishop of Canterbury resigning after Lambeth 2008 and being replaced by the Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu.

Never before have we seen so much talk about resignations and replacements, back-stabbing and denials including the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, involving even his son Andrew Carey.
