SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS --- After being held in limbo for two months, while patiently waiting on the Congregation of the Doctrine and Faith to respond to January's unceremonious removal of Fr. Christopher Phillips as pastor of Our Lady of the Atonement Church, the word is out -- Our Lady of the Atonement is Ordinariate bound.

In a request Monday for a parish wide meeting with Ordinariate Bishop Steven Lopes, it was revealed that Pope Francis has issued the papal decrees necessary to safely shepherd Our Lady of the Atonement in to the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter thus releasing it from the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Bishop Lopes was schedule to meet with Our Lady of the Atonement parishioners Tuesday evening to give them the lay of the land and answer any questions they may have about the process of becoming an Ordinariate parish.

"It appears that our difficult situation has been resolved," Phillips wrote to his anxious parishioners. "I look forward to us being together as one parish family."
